Here it is! My California Souvenir journal all filled with memories and ephemera... My main reason for the trip was to attend Kim Caldwell's art event, Affaire at Tiffany's, but I was able to squeeze in quite a bit of other fun as well.
My first two days was spent with Heather - my boss at Souvenir. We meet to do some work, but we also had time for some fun!
She took me to some great places... The Pie Hole, Sprinkles and Intelligentsia to name a few. I had cards, stickers and sugar packet wrappings from each stop that I used in the journal.
She also brought a bottle of the most amazing almond champagne for us to share (it was delicious!) I was able to save the label for my journal! I put it on some pretty lace wrapping paper, that was from my birthday presents from Heather.
The next day we meet up with Pam and Amy for some shopping at Dick Blick and lunch. I wish we had a Dick Blick here - I love it. It was a fun day, lots of talking, laughing and sharing of journals. Afterwards, Heather took me to Venice Beach for some shopping.
The following day Andrea, Lori, Karla, Jenn and Tiffany (all links go to posts about the events if you want to read more about it!) and I all came in a day earlier to go to the fashion district and have lunch at Bottega Louie. That was a fun, fun day and lunch was amazing!
That night, the event started - kicking off with Vendor night. I had my Instax camera for some fun instant photos for my journal.
I used an envelope to hold the fun cards and bits people were handing out.
Here are some more bits and bobs from the event:
I should note that it was around this point that I needed to put in bigger binder rings - the journal was getting quite stuffed!
I had used my vintage label maker before I left home and made some words, like friends, and the names of people I was attending with, etc. they came in handy!
The classes were all fun...
Jeanne Oliver was a hoot - loved meeting her and getting to hang out with her. Her class was great too!
Here is a close up of a page I used with some leftovers from her class:
A group of us had a great dinner one night on the beach at The Strand House. Yum.
The rest of my journal is filled with bits from the flea market/shopping bus trip on my last day... I even used my crop-a-dile to punch holes into a muslin bag one of my purchases came in:
It was a great trip, and I love the journal I have to remind me of it for years to come!

Gorgeous Journal! Thanks for sharing it!!I'll have to put an Instax camera on my wish list!
