I recently posted the above photo on Instagram showing the three journals I am currently working in on a regular basis. I thought it would be fun to give you a peek into each - as part of a three part series.
You can see my post on the Ringed One by clicking HERE.
Today I am going to share the bottom one, my stitched journal.
The bad news is, I didn't keep a travel journal on my trip to Seattle to visit Stacie. She liked the journal I made so much, I gifted it to her. However, we did a lot of journaling while we were together, and I needed something to work in, so amongst her studio I found an unbound, 3 signature stitched watercolor journal. I fell in love with the size (5x5 inches) and commandeered it as my own.
I worked in it while I was with her without it having covers and when I returned home I made covers out of old book board, old sheet music, some vintage veil and new ribbon. I added a vintage bouillon piece as a finishing touch, and covered the binding with pretty tape.
This was all new to me, I usually stitch my signatures right into the covers, but this way was fun, and I will try one in the future from scratch.
Anyway, on to the journaling! Here is the inside cover and first page -
Subpage flap...
Playing with words...
This spread is not done, but on the right I tried using some of Stacie's journaling techniques, and I have to admit I was not overly pleased with my results. She makes it look so easy!
Loved playing with watercolor paints in tubes rather than pans, I was getting used to them so some pages are darker then my usual.
I drew a princess using the book, Let's Draw Happy People , that Stacie had - I have yet to finish this spread too, but as I cannot draw people very well, I was proud of her and wanted to share...
Here is a spread I just started the other night... still a bit to go.
I have a lot more to fill in this little journal, so I am sure you will be seeing it again!

Absolutely delightful, Hope!
