Here are my final days - December 22 - 31, 2012
December 22- What was your most memorable trip in 2012?
Who were you with? Where was it? Why was it memorable?
A recent trip to NYC with friends!
December 23- What was your most saddest moment in 2012?
What were the circumstances? Did the event strengthen you? Humble you?
This was a short entry, that I sealed in a vintage glassine envelope for privacy.
December 24- What phrase or saying did you pick up in 2012?
What is it? Where (or who) did you pick it up from?
A wise woman got me to start making an effort to "Embrace Difference" when it comes to myself.

December 25- What do you believe in?
Is it the same now (today, in 2012) as it has always been? If not, what has changed? If yes, where did these beliefs stem from? This does not have to collate with Christmas if you do not wish it to - you can talk about what, overall do you believe in. Or you can have it directly relate to Christmas and what your beliefs surrounding this day are.
I philosophized quite a bit in 2012 about my beliefs and summarized some of my conclusions here.
December 26- How did you celebrate your birthday in 2011?
Where where you? Who were you with? Did you get any presents? Make any resolutions for yourself for your next year? If your birthday is December 27 - 31, you can choose to write about what you did in 2011, or what you have planned for 2012.
Ugh. I turned 40.
December 27- What could you have done without in 2011?
A bad trip? Experience? Heartbreak? Negative outlook on life? What was it, and why did it happen? Can you do anything to prevent it from happening in 2012?
Another private entry, but one I wrote at length about. The day-27-page was made from an envelope so I slipped my journaling in there and used pretty tape to seal it inside.
December 28- What did you regret not getting to or not doing in 2011?
What was it? Why were you unable to do it? Why did you regret it? Will you attempt to do it in 2012?
Getting healthy!
December 29- When did you feel your most authentic in 2012?
When was it? Where were you? What can you do to have this feeling more often in 2012?
I made a list of times I felt most authentic in general throughout the year.
December 30- What was the most important, or potent, lesson you leanred in 2012?
Who or what taught it to you? How will you use what you have learned in the future?
For me it was a hard lesson, but one I now try to be aware of as much as possible. That no matter how hard I try to see something from another's perspective, put myself in their shoes, there is little chance I am getting it right. We are all made up of different experiences and react to things differently, so the chances of being right are not as great as I once thought.
December 31- What is your greatest wish for 2013?
Anything you are hoping for? Wish to focus on? Put it down on paper to help visualize and cultivate it!
I used a page from an ABC carpet and Home catalog that says 'laughter and light', to which I added 'and a sense of belonging'.
That's it! Another year completed! Here is a photo of the back of my journal:

I love this Reverb journal, Hope. I have printed out the questions so that I can think about them as I live through this year. Sometimes it is hard to remember all that you did or felt in a year but if the questions are before me and I'm thinking about them throughout the year then at the end of the year I may be more motivated to make a journal similar to yours. It didn't happen in 2012 but I am hoping I will do it in December of this year.
