Years ago, I had this wonderful idea to supply monthly journal prompts that I would post for both all of you and myself to complete. I never really dedicated time to it and didn't make it past the 1st prompt (shown in photo above).
I would love to start it up again today. I have been thinking that I want this blog to me more interactive, I want to get to know you and share my ideas with you in a different way. I even still have the original flickr group I created for people to join to upload their pages and see what others do.
Will you Join me? Does this sound like something that would interest you?
Here is how I plan for it to work:
- Each month a new prompt will be posted (around the 5th of each of the month)
- I will start working on a journal spread, and hope you will too.
- I will share my finished spread here - and hopefully you will add yours to the flickr group.
- You can check the flickr group to see other's contributions.
- Special prompts for holidays and fun events.
My be.prompted Journal:
Before I post this months prompt, I thought I would share with you the journal I made to hold my be.prompted spreads (because we all know I just need another excuse to make another journal!)
I love using moleskine paper, and I tear it out of the journals often, and keep the covers. So I used a Large Classic Moleskine Notebook cover I had laying about. I then stitched in 3 signatures of 3 pages of watercolor paper each. I thought the watercolor paper would be a good base so I can glue in lined paper if I want, but have the heaviness in case I want to use glue or copics. Here is what the backside looks like with my (sloppy) stitching:
For the inside cover, I used an old sheet music cover with fun fonts, and added a vintage dennison label (one a little bigger than THESE) where the title was and a couple other fun bits.
Now I am ready to get started - stay tune for our first prompt next week - I hope you will join me!
