Join me for be.prompted monthly journal prompts ! Below is a prompt for you to work on - no rules. You can do it however you wish! See past prompts HERE.
be.prompted september 2014
Using words you find in magazines, catalogs, ephemera (old and new) and handwritten bits - collage you - or who you wish to be.
I came across this digital journal spread by Dale (there was no link to a blog, so if anyone knows more about this user, I would love for you to pass along the info) on pinterest and thought it would make for a fun prompt.
I thought it would be fun to elaborate on our last prompt using this method and focus on "I am..." You can also do "I strive to be..." or "I used to be..." or all of the above.
I have come up with a couple face options. I have one that you can print from my personal old paper collection (click HERE to download - you can print high resolution but not alter the image digitally), or you can purchase one of these lady game piece packs to use the heads I often use in my journals.
Of coruse you can be creative and use a head from a magazine or catalog, etc. They can even be front facing. You can sketch a face or it can be an actual photo of you - as always - there are no rules! You don't even need to use a head!
The key to this prompt is to capture what you are made of - think of words, phrases and images that represent who you are and make them into a collage of you.
And no worries if you are behind - feel free to add your past prompts as you finish them to the flickr group for me, and others, to see!
When you are done, take photos and share with the rest of us one of the following ways:
- Add your item to the flickr be.prompted group
- Post to your blog and comment with a link.
I can't wait to see what you come up with! Leave any questions you may have in the comments!
